Additional Registration of Chechen Refugees Living in Georgia

(Tbilisi, July 6, Civil Georgia) – Additional registration of Chechen refugees started in Georgia today. Approximately 200 refugees from different parts of Georgia will be driven to the Ministry of Refugees and Accomodation for registration. The registration period will last for about two days.

The basic part of Chechen refugees’ registration was held in April when the Ministry with the help of UNHCR registered those living in troubled Pankisi gorge, where most Chechens are settled at.

According to the census held in April there are 3700 Chechen refugees living in Georgia.
