Budgetary Shortfall in First Half of 2002
(Tbilisi, July 9, Civil Georgia) – Head of the Budgetary Office of the Parliament Roman Gotsiridze reports that the budgetary shortfall consisted 63 million Lari (approximately USD 28 million) in the first six month of the 2002.
According to Gotsiridze the shortfall is mainly due to inadequate activity of the costumes office and the tax department.
At the news briefing on July 9 Gotsiridze said that there is a shortfall in the budget of June as well, which consisted USD 5 million.
Roman Gotsiridze concluded that taking into consideration the budgetary situation for the first half of the 2002 the fulfillment of the 2002 budget is almost impossible.
