Preparing for the III Phase of GTEP

(Tbilisi, July 10, Civil Georgia) – Today is the deadline for subscribing to Commando Battalion, the trainings of which will open the third phase of Georgia Train-and-Equip Program. The battalion will be completed with 500 soldiers from different parts of Georgia and they will be trained by American military experts.

“The process of subscription is going on well. There is no danger that the list will not be completed and the trainings will be ceased, as some information agencies said earlier”, press secretary of Georgian Defence Ministry told the Civil Georgia today.

Mountain battalion, battalions of land forces and special units will also participate in the third phase of the training. 2000 Georgian soldiers will be trained in total.

II Phase of GTEP, which is staff training, will be over on August 2 and the III phase will start on August 27. The actual trainins will last for one year.
