Russian Officer Killed with Injuries in Head
(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, August 9, 2002) – Georgian Interior Ministry reports today that Igor Zaetsev, Russian officer was killed with the injuries in his head.
The law enforcers have already arrested person suspected in the murder of employee of the Group of Russian Troops in Trans Caucasus. According to the unofficial reports the arrested suspect is Russian citizen Davit Gazashvili. Interior Ministry does not reveal the name of suspect and other details of the case.
The body of Igor Zaetsev was found on August 7 in the suburbs of the Georgian capital Tbilisi.
Russian Foreign Ministry accused the Georgian authorities of Zaetsev’s murder, saying that the anti-Russian campaign by the Georgian authorities encouraged criminals to commit murder of Russian officer.
