Police Might Attack Minibus with Hostages
(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, August 20, 2002) – “The law enforcers might attack minibus tonight in case the criminal does not release hostages,” Interior Ministry spokesman told the reporters on August 20.
The police started negotiations with young man, who robbed the jewelry store in the center of Tbilisi and took four hostages on August 19, 10 hours ago. The result of these negotiations is the release of one hostage out of four.
The criminal threatens to explode bomb and kill hostages in case the police do not let him go.
After the robbery a criminal hijacked a minibus with hostages. The police could stop him in Mtskheta, near Tbilisi.
