Rally in Tskhinvali Region
(Tbilisi, August 29 2002, Civil Georgia) The police officer of the village Kurta in Tskhinvali region was severely beaten 9am on August 29. Recently, there have been a number of beating and kidnapping incidents of ethnic Georgians.
Georgian population rallies in Kurta, where Georgians from several villages has gathered. According to protesters, government must look for Vice-Colonel Zurab Durglishvili as soon as possible. Durglishvili was abducted 2 weeks ago.
Population appeal governments of Georgia and self-declared South Ossetia to establish order in the region. Otherwise, they threaten to rally regularly and block the roads.
