Number of Georgian Peacekeepers Deployed in the Balkans May Increase
(Tbilisi, September 2, 2002, Civil Georgia) – Georgian Defense Ministry works on a plan, which considers increasing the number of Georgian peacekeepers deployed in the Balkans, Georgian Defense Ministry reports.
According to the project, a Georgian battalion will be sent to the Balkans. A platoon of Georgian soldiers hase been deployed there for four years already.
Georgian-German bilateral meeting will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia, in September which will touch upon details of the plan.
