Russia Handed Over Georgian Border Guards

(Tbilisi, September 6, 2002, Civil Georgia) – On September 5 Russian side handed over to Georgia three border guards detained by the Russians on September 2 for illegal crossing the border.

The talks between the Georgian and Russian sides where held at Mamisoni pass where the border guards were arrested.

Georgian side claimed the border guards crossed the border unintentionally.
