State Property Management Ministry to Be Canceled

(Tbilisi, September 6, 2002, Civil Georgia) – As a result of the Anti-Corruption Council recommendation the State Property Management Ministry will be canceled from the beginning of 2003.

The decision of the Anti-Corruption Council is the part of the reorganization of the executive government. According to the reorganization plan existing 19 ministries will be reduced to 10 and 29 state departments to 7.

The duties of the Ministry will be distributed to the Economy and Finance Ministries and the holding company that will be responsible for management of the shares in the state owned companies.
