(Tbilisi, September 10, 2002, Civil Georgia) – Romanian Defense Ministry delegation led by the Chief of Staff of the Romanian Navy Corneliu Rudenko visits Georgia on September 10-14.
The delegation will hold talks with Georgian Defense leadership. The Romanian delegation will visit Poti, town at the Black Sea coast.
Georgia and Romania have intensified defense cooperation recently. Georgian delegation of the Defense Ministry visited Romania on September 3-7.
The possible participation of Romania in the US funded Georgia Train-and-Equip program (GTEP) was discussed during the visit. In the frames of the GTEP Georgian anti-terrorist units will be supplied with only Soviet-type weapons to avoid interoperability problems.
