Shevardnadze Convenes Emergency Meeting

(Tbilisi, September 11, Civil Georgia) Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze convened special meeting. State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze and Security Council Secretary Tedo Japaridze are attending. Three top officials discuss statement of the President Vladimir Putin, who posed an ultimatum to the Georgian government and ordered the General Staff of the defense ministry to present the plans of pre-emptive strikes on “terrorist bases” on the Georgian territory.
