Tbilisi Officials Resign, Mayor Remains

(Tbilisi, November 15, Civil Georgia) – Three Deputy Prime Ministers, as well as other five officials of the Tbilisi government resigned today.

The capital city officials? decision came after the Tbilisi City Council ? Sakrebulo started to discuss the issue of impeachment of the city?s government.

The Sakrebulo intends to raise the issue of distrust towards Tbilisi Mayor Vano Zodelava. The Sakrebulo has no legal right to dismiss the city Mayor as the President appoints him. The City Council can only apply to President Shevardnadze with request to dismiss the Mayor.
