Krtsanisi Military Base Was Named in Honor of September 11 Victims

(Tbilisi, November 25, 2002. Civil Georgia) Krtsanisi training base of the Defense Ministry of Georgia, where at present Georgian servicemen are being trained by American instructors under the GTEP program, was named in honor of September 11 victims today.

On November 25 morning the base was visited by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Richard Myers, who has arrived to Georgia on November 23 with three-day official visit. General has expressed satisfaction with progress of the GTEP program.

At a joint press conference with General Myers at the Krtsanisi base, to a journalists question whether the American trained Georgian antiterrorist battalions would participate in operations outside the country, Georgian Defense Minister David Tevzadze replied that this would require a political decision.
