Ukraine Wants UN Aegis for Participation in Abkhazian Conflict Resolution

(Tbilisi, December 19, 2002. Civil Georgia) – Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma said at the meeting with his Georgian counterpart Eduard Shevardnadze in Tbilisi on December 18, that Ukraine is ready to participate in Abkhaz conflict resolution only under the UN auspices.

Kuchma stated that he would assist in organizing the international conference in Ukraine, where the ways of Abkhazian conflict settlement would be discussed.
