Russia Handed Over Two Terrorist Suspects to Georgia

(Tbilisi, December 28, 2002. Civil Georgia) – Today Russia extradited to Georgia two persons suspected in failed car bomb attack against President Shevardnadze in 1998.
 
Russian law enforcers detained Georgian citizens Soso Toria and Vepkhia Durglishvili, wanted by Georgian State Security Ministry in Chechnya in mid-December.

Georgian State Security Ministry thanked the Russian Federal Security Service for cooperation and extradition of the terrorist suspect.

One bodyguard of Georgian President and one attacker died in the terrorist attack against Shevardnadze on February 9, 1998.
