Parliamentary Factions Form Alliances
(Tbilisi, January 6, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Pro-presidential Parliamentary factions hold consultations on forming the Parliamentary majority. At the same time two opposition factions negotiate on creating alliance as well.
According to the preliminary information the new majority will be formed on January 9. Citizens’ Union of Georgia, Alliance for New Georgia, Tanadgoma, Apkhazeti and Socialist factions will be the members of the new majority.
The MPs from the National Movement and the Traditionalist opposition parties also hold talks on forming the alliance. It is anticipated that the two parliamentary factions will be joined.
