(Tbilisi, January 8, 2003. Civil Georgia) – IDPs from Georgia’s breakaway region Abkhazia held a protest rally in front of the Russian embassy in Tbilisi today.
Protesters demanded closure of the railway connection between Russian and Abkhazia, which was resumed on December 25 and to stop granting Russian citizenship to the population living in the breakaway region.
The protest rally with the same demands is also held at the bridge over Inguri rive, administrative border between Abkhazia and the rest of Georgia, since January 6.
