(Tbilisi, January 13, 2003. Civil Georgia) – In his Monday radio broadcast on January 13 President Shevardnadze said that the Parliament’s activity in 2002 could be positively evaluated.
“But I hope in the year 2003 Parliament will work more effectively,” Eduard Shevardnadze said.
At the government’s meeting on January 8 President harshly criticized the MPs for “wasting too much time” and for ignoring Presidential initiatives. President even threatened the Parliament to use his constitutional right and veto the Parliaments’ decisions.
After the accusations Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze met with the President and dismissed the criticism.
