Security Council Discussed Abkhazian Issue
(Tbilisi, January 24, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Today the Georgian National Security Council (NSC) discussed today situation in Abkhazia on the eve of the UN Security Council, which is scheduled by the end of January.
“The members of the Council will have to work out proposals regarding the Russian peacekeepers’ mandate and situation in Abkhazia in couple of days and propose them to the NSC,” Tedo Japaridze, Secretary of the NSC told the reporters.
Russian peacekeepers mandate, deployed in Abkhazian conflict zone under the auspices of the Commonwealth of Independent State (CIS) expires on January 30.
