Tbilisi City Council Chairman Urges US to Assist Georgian Energy System

(Tbilisi February 8, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Chairman of Tbilisi City Council – Sakrebulo Mikheil Saakashvili sent a letter to the US administration urging to speed up financial assistance for the Georgian energy system.

At the news briefing today Saakashvili said that the US administration has already considered USD 9 million for the development of the energy sector of the country in 2003.

Chairman of the Sakrebulo said that Georgia needs this assistance in the nearest future to rehabilitate energy sector.
