(Tbilisi. March 25, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Parliamentary session started today discussion of the draft of the new tax code, proposed by the Industrialists Parliamentary faction.
The draft considers extreme liberalization of the tax code. The Industrialists faction believes that the implementation of the proposed draft would decrease shadow economy in the country.
The draft considers reduction of number of taxes from 18 to 4.
Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze said at the session today “it is very important document and I welcome that we could finally start discussion of this draft after delays.”
