Protesters in Western Georgia Demand Electricity
(Tbilisi. April 1, 2003. Civil Georgia) – The residents of Zugdidi, in western Georgia held a protest rally on March 31 demanding electricity supply.
Hundreds of Zugdidi residents gathered in the center of the town saying electricity supply is suspended for five days.
Reports say that the residents threaten to damage the high voltage power transmission line Kavkasioni, which carries electricity from Russia into Georgia, in case the authorities do not improve electricity supply in Zugdidi district.
