General Prosecutor’s Office Requests Parliament to Lift MP’s Immunity
(Tbilisi. April 2, 2003. Civil Georgia) – General Prosecutor’s Office appealed to the Parliament on April 1 to lift MP immunity from Davit Bezhuashvili, independent MP from Tetri Tskaro constituency, southern Georgia.
Prosecutor’s Office charges MP Bezhuashvili for fraud and misappropriation 5 million Lari (approximately USD 2,3 million), while being the chief of SakGazi state-run company.
MP Gela Bezhuashvili dismissed the General Prosecutor’s accusations claiming that the government tries to mount pressure on him.
