Abkhazian Government Member in Exile Attacked
(Tbilisi, May 9, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Omar Gogia, which is the official of the Tbilisi-based Abkhaz government in exile, was attacked and beaten up by the three men in his office on May 8.
Gogia was hospitalized with heavy injuries. He is the representative of the Head of Abkhaz government in the western Georgia.
The office of the Abkhaz government in exile is located in the building of the Constitutional Court of Georgia in the center of Tbilisi. Attackers are not arrested.
Tamaz Nadareishvili, Head of the Tbilisi-based Abkhaz government rules out that the incident is connected with the politics. Omar Gogia is known for his commercial activity.
