Burdjanadze Satisfied by Vilnius Visit
(Tbilisi, May 23, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Chairperson of the Parliament Nino Burjanadze evaluated her visit to Lithuania as very successful, upon return to Georgia on May 22. Burjanadze has attended the meeting of Vilnius 10 a group of countries aspiring to NATO membership.
“This meeting was particularly important because Georgia is not a member of the organization. Members of the Vilnius 10 are the countries ready to integrate into the NATO. By inviting the Georgian side to the meeting, the member countries reiterated their support towards us” – Burjanadze said.
Burjanadze hopes that such support would facilitate Georgia’s accession to the NATO .
