OSCE Calls Georgia to Improve Election System
(Tbilisi, June 18 2003, Civil Georgia) – The delegation of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), led by ODIHR Director Christian Strohal discussed today the pre-election situation in the country with the representatives of the Parliamentary factions.
Christian Strohal told the reporters after the meeting he hopes that the democratic Election Code will be adopted and the election system will be improved.
He said that the OSCE will send its observers to watch closely upcoming Parliamentary elections, scheduled for November 2.
The ODIHR delegation will meet with the Parliamentary Vice-Speakers on June 19.
