Burjanadze Against Hasty Discussion of Constitutional Amendments
(Tbilisi, June 19 2003, Civil Georgia) – At the session today Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze said that discussion of the constitutional amendments is hasty at the moment.
?I do not consider acceptable to speed up the discussion of such an important issue. I, personally, support these constitutional amendments, but they need serious considerations,? Burjanadze said.
The Parliament started discussion of the draft on constitutional amendments on June 18. The draft implies the introduction of Cabinet of Ministers and two-chamber parliament.
