Azerbaijan Against Removal of Russian Ammunition from Georgia to Armenia

(Tbilisi, June 24, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Vilayat Guliev told a press conference in Baku on June 20 that the transfer of Russian military equipment and ammunition from eastern Georgia to Armenia is likely to delay the Karabakh conflict resolution.

Azeri news agency Turan reported quoting Guliev that Russia’s military presence in Armenia is quite enough.

The Russian Defense Ministry started to remove ammunition and military equipment from the 130th Russian military depot in Sagarejo, eastern Georgia on June 21 under the agreement reached by the Georgian and Russian sides late last year.
