Opposition Parties Start Election Campaign
(Tbilisi, June 27, 2003, Civil Georgia) – The New Rights party held a congress at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Academic Theatre today, where it announced officially about the beginning of the party’s pre-election campaign.
Restorationi of the territorial integrity, social and security problems are the main issues of the New Rights’ election campaign.
“We need 900 days to submit particular results to our voters,” one of the leaders of the party Davit Gamkrelidze said.
The party congress elected Gamkrelidze the head of the election headquarters.
Another opposition Nationa Movemetn Party, led by Chairman of the Tbilisi City Council Mikheil Saakashvili alos announced on June 26 about launch of the election campaign. Social issue tops the National Movement’s election agenda.
