Austrian Interior Minister Visits Georgia

(Tbilisi, July 12, 2003, Civil Georgia) Interior Minister of Austria Ernst Strasser arrived in Georgia on an official two-day visit on July 11.
Ernst Strasser met with his Georgian counterpart Koba Narchemashvili and Head of the State Border Guard Department Valerie Chkheidze on July 11.

The issues of combating terrorism, organized crime and illegal migration of Georgian citizens to the European countries were discussed during the visit.

As the Austrian Interior Minister stated, his country is ready to strengthen cooperation with Georgia in all these directions.
Later on July 12 he is expected to meet with Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze and Foreign Minister Irakli Menagarishvili.
