Voters will Be Marked During Parliamentary Elections

(Tbilisi, August 14, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Parliament approved today amendment to the Election Code considering voter marking, with a special ink in order to avoid double voting by the same person.

However the voter marking will take place only in the large constituencies, including in capital city of Tbilisi.

The adoption of remaining amendments to the election code is delayed because of the controversial proposal, which would prohibit current members of the Central Election Commission (CEC) from being nominated for the new CEC. Part of pro-Presidential factions, as well as the Revival Union i!
