Law Enforcers Prepare Anti-Crime Measures in Svaneti

(Tbilisi, September 5, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Today Interior Minister and the Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council discussed anti-crime measures to be held in Georgia’s north-western mountainous region of Svaneti.

“There are couple of tens of criminals harboring in Svaneti. No large scales operation will be needed,” Koba Narchemashvili told reporters on September 5.

“It will be a pinpointing operation against the criminals, without large number of police. The operation will be carried out by the Interior and Security Ministri!
es,” Jemal Gakhokidze told reporters.
