The pro-presidential election bloc For New Georgia today officially launched its election campaign by presenting 75 candidates, who will run for MP in the single-mandate constituencies, on November 2 parliamentary elections.
“I will not be glad if the opposition suffers a defeat, but I really want to see your victory,” President Shevardnadze said today, at the presentation.
The list of the MP candidates includes Levan Mamaladze, ex-governor of the Kvemo Kartli region, Joni Pirtskhalaishvili, former head of the General Staff of Armed Forces of Georgia, Lasha Natsvlishvili, former deputy security minister and many other former officials, who resigned in order to run for MP.
