No Breakthrough in Talks over South Ossetian Conflict

The political status of breakaway South Ossetia is discussed during the tripartite (Georgian, South Ossetian and Russian sides) talks in Tbilisi on October 2.

However the talks made no breakthrough in the resolution of the conflict. The South Ossetian side still insists on recognition of its de facto independence.

The talks were held with the mediation of the OSCE Mission in Georgia.
