President Denies Georgia Harbors Chechen Warlord
President Shevardnadze denied reports regarding the presence of Chechen warlord Ruslan Gelaev in Georgia.
The Russian media sources reported earlier that Ruslan Gelaev bought apartment in the town of Rustavi, near Tbilisi and received the Georgian citizenship.
According to the Georgian State Security Ministry armed group of Chechen militants, led by Ruslan Gelaev was harboring in Pankisi gorge since summer 2002.
President Shevardnadze said at a news briefing today that there are no Chechen militants in Pankisi gorge anymore.
