Civil Activists Protest Attacks Agaisnt Media in Western Georgia
The representatives of Georgian Civil Society Organizations and local television held a manifestation in a western Georgian town of Poti today.
The participants protested against frequent cases of attacks on the representatives of mass media by the law-enforcement agencies in a town of Poti at the Black Sea coast.
The office of a local newspaper Poti was raided two weeks ago, as a result of which the newspaper ceased publishing.
The crew of Rustavi 2 TV channel, as well as the journalists of Channel 9 TV company, was attacked in Poti on October 11 while shooting the anti-governmental rally of Kmara youth movement.
