MP Candidate Concerned over Voter Lists Rigging in Adjara

Davit Berdzenishvili of the opposition National Movement party, who runs for MP in Batumi single-mandate constituency in Adjarian Autonomous Republic, accused today the leadership of the Autonomous Republic of artificial increase of voter lists.

“The leadership of Adjara Autonomous Republic intends to rig the upcoming parliamentary elections at the expense of increase of voter lists. The voter lists are twice increased, that is the best way to rig the election results,” Berdzenishvili said on October 17.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has not received voter lists from Adjara so far. Under the official data, number of voters in the Autonomous Republic is 280 thousand.
