CEC and Parties to Consult with Shevardnadze

(Tbilisi, June 1, Civil Georgia) – Head of the Central Elections Commission [CEC] Jumber Lominadze will hold consultations with President Shevardnadze today. The decision was made at the meeting between the CEC and political parties demanding locals’ delay.

The President and the CEC leader will discuss the some parties’ proposal stating that the local self-governance elections should be either delayed or all the fraud lists of the electorate improved.

It is thought that the representatives of this group of parties will also meet President today.

These parties and political blocks are: Saakashvili’s National Movement, Zurab Zhvania’s Team, the Traditionalists, the People’s Party, the Industrialists, the Labor Party, the Socialists, “Tanadgoma” and “Ertoba”.
