Local elections in Adjara
(Tbilisi, June 17, Civil Georgia) – Local elections were held in Autonomous Republic of Adjara on 16 June.
Only three parties – electoral block “Revival-21st Century”, “National-Democratic Party”, “Industrialists” and independent candidates participated in local elections in Adjara.
All three parties nominated their candidates in Batumi Mayor elections. The son of the leader of Autonomous republic of Adjara Giorgi Abashidze was nominated by the electoral block “Revival-21st Century”,
According to Central Elections Commission, 70% of population participated in locals.
Adjarian authorities did not allow watchdog NGO “Fair Elections” to observe locals in Adjara.
Locals were held on 2 June in other regions of Georgia.
