Burjanadze: Government Stepped Back
Nino Burjanadze, the Parliamentary Chairperson and the leader of Burjanadze-Democrats election alliance, said today that the government had “to step back and withdraw its lawsuit against me.”
Dodo Shelia of the pro-presidential election bloc For New Georgia, who runs for Kutaisi single-mandate constituency, today withdrew her lawsuit against Nino Burjanadze.
Dodo Shelia accused Nino Burjanadze, who also runs for MP in Kutaisi, of misusing state resources during her election campaign. The appeal read that Burjanadze used the car of the Parliament during the campaigning.
The pro-presidential candidate said she withdrew the lawsuit to avoid destabilization on the eve of the parliamentary elections, since the supporters of the Burjanadze-Democrats intended to hold protest rallies.
