Burjanadze Leads Single-Mandate Elections in Kutaisi

As anticipated, Nino Burjanadze, the Parliamentary Chairperson and the leader of opposition Burjanadze-Democrats election bloc, leads the elections in a single-mandate constituency of Kutaisi, Georgia’s second largest city.

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC) Nino Burjanadze received 35% of the votes, while her contender Dodo Shelia of pro-governmental election alliance For New Georgia gained only 14%.
