Shevardnadze Says “Saakashvili is Dangerous”

President Shevardnadze said in the televised interview today that Mikheil Saakashvili, the opposition leader, “is a dangerous person.”

“He is dangerous – this is my final conclusion. However the recent developments in the country are not caused by only one person,” Shevardnadze said.

Shevardnadze said that he is “satisfied by visiting the protesters” this morning. “I have told them what I wanted,” he added.

This morning Eduard Shevardnadze tried to meet the protesters demanding his resignation, however the crowd met him with chanting: “Go, Resign.”

President Shevardnadze also said that he intends to go to the regions to meet with the local authorities and discuss recent developments in the country.
