After more than two hours of talks Mikheil Saakashvili, one of the leaders of opposition walked out from the talks with President Shevardnadze, saying “Shevardnadze throws Georgia into civil confrontation.”

“We informed the President regarding the ballot fraud with rigging the voter lists. He [Shevardnadze] told us that he has nothing to do with the ballot fraud, with Zugdidi incident [when opposition rally was dispersed and two people injured] and finally he shouted on me: “I do not want to talk with you.” After this I left the talks,” Mikheil Saakashvili told reporters.

“With this kind of policy Shevardnadze pushes the country into civil confrontation. He disclaims responsibility for everything happening in this country. He and his policy is really dangerous for Georgia,” Mikheil Saakashvili said.
