Pro-presidential MP Candidates Win in Most of Single-Mandate Constituencies

The Central Election Commission announced on November 14 that 54 MPs have been elected in the single mandate constituencies, while the runoff elections will be held in 5 single-mandate constituency on November 23.

In the rest of the single mandate constituencies by-elections will be held, while some of the results of elections in some of the single-mandate constituencies are disputed in the courts.

18 MP candidates out of 54, who are already elected in the single-mandate constituencies, are the members of the pro-presidential election bloc For New Georgia, 6 from another governmental Revival Union party, led by Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze, 4 – opposition National Movement; the New Rights – 3; the Industrialists – 2; the Labor Party – 1.

The rest 19 winners in the single-mandate constituencies are independent candidates, however as the opposition claims many of them are pro-presidential politicians.

Runoff elections will be held on November 23 in five single-mandate constituencies.
