U.S. Calls for Refraining from Challenging Elections before Final Results are Announced

The United States urges Georgians to wait until run-off elections have been held November 23 and the Central Election Commission has completed its work before challenging the results of the voting for parliamentary seats, Douglas Davidson, deputy U.S. representative to the OSCE, said on November 13.

In remarks to the OSCE Permanent Council, Davidson also said the United States was heartened to note that post-election demonstrations in Georgia and the authorities’ response to the demonstrations have been peaceful.
