Shevardnadze Hints on New Trends in Georgia’s Foreign Policy

Georgian President Shevardnadze said at a news briefing today, while commenting on country’s foreign policy, that Georgia’s “foreign policy is oriented on friends.”

“But I have to say that three phone calls from Russian President Putin [during one week] was a very important fact. And it is a sign of something new,” Eduard Shevardnadze said.

Last week President Shevardnadze and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held phone conversations for three times and discussed current political crisis in Georgia.
