Protest March Heads Towards Tbilisi
Thousands of cars, bases and minibuses of the protesters head towards the capital city Tbilisi, to demand Shevardnadze’s resignation.
The protesters, led by key opposition leader Mikheil Saakashvili are about 100 km away from the capital Tbilisi. They are expected to arrive in Tbilisi in the evening.
Meanwhile, the government-led rally continues outside the Parliament building, organized by the Revival Union, led by Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze. Several hundreds of residents of Adjara Autonomous Republic joined today the rally.
The opposition claims most of the participants of the rally in front of the Parliament were forced to arrive in Tbilisi after the intimidation of the authorities.
