Germany Calls for Peaceful Settlement of Political Crisis in Georgia

German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer expressed concern over the political crisis in Georgia and called on all sides to search for peaceful and constitutional ways of crisis settlement.

“The government and the opposition should do their best to avoid violence and search for democratic and legal solution of the existing problems in accordance with the state interests,” the statement issued by the German Foreign Minister reads.

Joschka Fischer said, the Federal Government of Germany hopes that the government and the opposition will continue talks on the results of the parliamentary elections.
