World Bank Discusses Assistance with Georgian Leadership

The World Bank Country Director for Georgia Donna Dowsett-Coirolo met today with Finance Minister Zurab Noghaideli and the President of the National Bank of Georgia Irakli Managadze to discuss the ways the World Bank can render its assistance to the country.

As recently stated by the World Bank, Georgia faces a series of very difficult development challenges which the new authorities will need to address in the short-term period.

According to the statement ?the Bank looks forward to working with the new leadership to assist the people of Georgia in raising their living standards, creating economic and social opportunities, and developing a public sector which is responsive to the needs of all citizens.?
