Football Federation Refused its President Wanted to Flee Georgia

The executive board of the Georgian Football Federation (GFF) refused reports that President of GFF intended to flee Georgia, while he was detained by the law enforcers this morning.

“Mr. Zhordania was seeing off his relatives in the airport and did not intend to leave Georgia,” the statement issued by GFF reads.

The detention of Zhordania follows the General Prosecutor’s Office’s statement that Zhordania is suspected in tax evasion and illegal financial transactions.
